Why Tallow?

At Rickety Bridge Soap Emporium, every batch of whipped tallow butter is created with care and intention. Tallow is one of nature’s most skin-friendly moisturizers, deeply nourishing and remarkably similar to the oils our own skin produces. By sourcing suet locally and rendering it myself, I not only create a more sustainable product but also save these valuable fats from being wasted.

To start off this beautiful product, I traveled to a local farm to purchase some beef suet to render at home. After bringing it home, it is rendered down into a beautiful, buttery scented, rich tallow. I then add a bit of beautiful golden jojoba oil, nourishing castor oil, a bit of arrowroot powder, skin safe fragrance and mica, and blend it to produce this light, fluffy, skin loving whipped butter.

All of my tallow products here at Rickety Bridge Soap Emporium are made in small batches. I have created each recipe from scratch, picking the perfect combinations of oils to make a well-balanced product. I source my fats locally, allowing us to reduce our carbon footprint. I render down these fats myself to use in my various recipes. This saves these fats from being sent to a landfill.

PACKAGING:

Whipped tallow comes in a 4 fl oz amber jar with label, listing it's individual ingredients. I use minimal packaging whenever I can, to help reduce the amount of waste that goes into shipping. Reusable and recyclable shredded paper is used in my packages, and occasionally I use biodegradable packing peanuts. Glass jar can be washed and reused.

Notes on Use & Care

Texture: Because this is a natural, preservative-free product, you may occasionally notice a light graininess. This is completely normal and does not affect performance.

Temperature: Extreme heat or cold may cause changes in texture — from fluffy to more solid or melted. Simply store at room temperature for best results.

Storage: Avoid introducing water into the jar to keep your butter fresh.

Safety: Made only with skin-safe, non-toxic ingredients, but not intended for ingestion or internal use.

Filling: Jars are hand-packed and may occasionally be slightly overfilled, resulting in a bit of butter on the lid.

Natural Products & Weather

Because I don’t use stabilizers or preservatives, my products are truly natural and a little more sensitive to temperature changes. Extreme heat may cause tallow butters to melt, while cold weather can cause them to freeze. If your butter arrives melted, simply pop it in the fridge for a few minutes to firm it up again. It may take on a slightly grainy texture after temperature changes, but rest assured, it’s still perfectly safe and wonderfully nourishing for your skin.
