Use & Care of Your Handmade Soap
Handmade cold process soap is a little different from the mass-produced bars you find in stores—it’s rich, gentle, and made with simple ingredients, which means it deserves just a bit of extra care to help it last.
How to Use:
Simply lather the bar with water in your hands, on a washcloth, or with a loofah, and enjoy the creamy bubbles. Use it for hands, face, or body—anywhere you’d like a clean, nourishing wash. Rinse well and enjoy the soft feel it leaves behind.
How to Care For Your Soap:
To get the most out of your bar, keep it as dry as possible between uses. Handmade soaps don’t contain the hardening agents that store-bought soaps often do, so letting them sit in water can make them soften too quickly. The best way to extend the life of your soap is to keep it on a well-draining soap dish, away from standing water.
Storing Extras:
If you’ve stocked up, store unused bars in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to use them. Many people like to tuck them in a drawer or linen closet—the soap will stay fresh and gently scent the space until you need it.
Soap Sizes
Because all of my soaps are handmade and cut in small batches, each bar will vary slightly in weight and appearance—no two are exactly the same!
-
Classic Soap Bars
Each rectangular bar weighs approximately 3.5–4 oz and measures about 2" wide x 1" deep x 3 ¾" tall. -
Round Shampoo & Hand Soap Bars
These round bars weigh approximately 3.5–4 oz and measure about 3" across x 1" tall. -
Round Dish Soap Bars
Each dish bar also weighs approximately 3.5–4 oz and measures about 3" across x 1" tall.
Please note: sizes and weights are approximate since each batch cures a little differently, adding to the unique character of every bar.
A Note About Appearance:
Because my soaps are handmade in small batches, each bar is unique. You may notice slight variations in color, size, or shape, or see a light dusting of “soda ash” on the surface. These are all normal and purely cosmetic—they don’t affect how the soap works.
