Why Choose a Shampoo Bar? 

Making the switch from commercial shampoo to a natural, cold process shampoo bar is a wonderful step toward healthier hair and a more sustainable lifestyle. But it’s also a little different than what most people are used to, so here’s what you need to know:

No Harsh Detergents
Unlike many store-bought shampoos that are filled with synthetic detergents, foaming agents, and silicones, our shampoo bars are crafted with natural oils, tallow, herbs, and botanicals. They gently cleanse without stripping your scalp of its natural oils, leaving your hair clean and nourished.

The Transition Period
When you first switch, you may notice your hair feeling different — sometimes heavier, waxy, or even a little oily. This is called the transition period, and it’s completely normal. Your scalp is simply rebalancing after being stripped by commercial shampoos. Be patient — most people find that after a couple of weeks, their hair adjusts beautifully, becoming softer, healthier, and more manageable.

The Acid Rinse
Because cold process soap has a higher pH than commercial shampoos, we recommend finishing your wash with an acid rinse to help restore balance and smooth the hair cuticle.

• How to make it: Mix 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice with 1–2 cups of warm water.

• How to use it: After rinsing out your shampoo, slowly pour the acid rinse over your hair, working it through from scalp to ends. Rinse again with fresh water.
  This simple step leaves hair shiny, soft, and tangle-free.

How to Use Your Shampoo Bar

1. Wet your hair and the bar.

2. Rub the bar directly onto your scalp and hair until you get a nice lather.

3. Massage the lather through your hair and scalp.

4. Rinse thoroughly.

5. Follow with your acid rinse, then rinse again with water.
