Cast Iron Seasoning
Why Tallow?
At Rickety Bridge Soap Emporium, every batch of tallow is created with care and intention. By sourcing suet locally and rendering it myself, I not only create a more sustainable product but also save these valuable fats from being wasted.
Notes on Use
Apply a thin layer of our cast iron seasoning balm to your warm cast iron pan with a paper towel or lint‑free cloth. Wipe any excess oils from the pan and heat in an oven at 400f to 500f for 1 hour. apply more seasoning and repeat if necessary.
Packaging
Each cast iron seasoning comes in a 2 ounce tin, labeled with ingredients and designed with simplicity and sustainability in mind. No inner seals, no excess plastic — just minimal packaging. Orders are shipped with recyclable shredded paper and biodegradable packing peanuts whenever possible.
Natural Products & Weather
Because I don’t use stabilizers or preservatives, my products are truly natural—and a little more sensitive to temperature changes. Extreme heat may cause tallow to melt, while cold weather can cause them to freeze. If your butter arrives melted, simply pop it in the fridge for a few minutes to firm it up again. It may take on a slightly grainy texture after temperature changes, but rest assured, it’s still perfectly safe to use
Please note: I cannot re-ship or refund products that melt during transit, so please consider your local weather when ordering in the warmer months.
